In 2023 Love in Action purchased 72,617 pounds of food from the Community Food Bank. Christian Service Mission donated 6,500 pounds and Walmart donated 106,484 pounds including produce and meats through a cooperative program with Community Food Bank. Plus the food drives from Vestavia Hills High School, Bumpus Middle School, Metropolitan Church, and Shades Mountain Baptist Church netted over 10,321 pounds.
People Impact
In 2023, Love in Action provided food to 1,525 families totaling 10,784 individuals including 4,729 children, and 2,350 senior adults. And we provided food to a nursing home, a child care ministry, multiple foster care homes, and a local AA meeting.
Love in Action became a 501(c)3 organization in 1993 for the sole purpose of providing food and clothing to families in need.
